The meetings held by Igbo women resident anywhere in the world are hosted in the Igbo homelands of the residents.
The communities dedicate special days from mid August till the end of the month for their women to meet and discuss community issues that concern then.
A notice from the Akanu Ohafia women in Abia state, Nigeria, explains the women's concern as they meet from August 14, 2024.

Akanu OHAFIA women August Meeting 2024 with the theme JOIN THE MOVING TRAIN holds from wednesday the14th day of August to saturday the 17th day of August 2024
The highpoints of the spectacular event include but not limited to: Free medical outreach which holds on the 14th day of August at Akanu Ukwu Health center Akanu OHAFIA after compound by compound general clean up exercise by the women.On the 15th and 16th the program continues with prayers, thanks giving services , meetings ,lectures and reappraisal of the developmental initiatives of the women at Ugwuafia primary school Akanu Ohafia culminating in the climax of the event on the 17th when all the women will gather to talk development and give special awards to deserving sons and daughters of Akanu OHAFIA UGWUONYIRIEGBE under the distinguished chairmanship of Elder U.K. Ukoha ably assisted by Chief Uduma Uche(Destiny).
