Africa, according to reports, accounts for the world's second hand market with Ghana topping the list.
Though Africans don't like the idea, there seems to be a consensus that they are hamstrung by the economic constraints on the continent and so cannot stop it.
Here are some reactions to petitions to stop it.
We not okrika to survive.
The ones produced here are too costly. The imported new clothes are also not affordable to the common man.
We are not complaining.
Let us wear our rag as far as they are serving their purpose for some time.
Thank you
They don't force the clothes on us, it's our people who spend millions of dollars annually importing them.
And majority of the people buy them, so you don't blame these countries.
To a common African, this is similar to banning garri from the local markets and stores which have been saving families for many generations. Our government will only give a ban to this embarrassment and more sensitization have to be done as well.
Count me out of this petition abeg
