(We are only defending ourselves...)
"So you all will stand, support and watch an Igbo to come and rule over us."
(Obafemi Awolowo inciting Yorubas who are members of NCNC against Zik in 1951. This automatically made the NCNC to fail)
"We will kill all Igbos. If we get to Port Harcourt we will aim at everything that moves, and even if it stops moving, we will still aim at it."

"All is fair in war, and starvation is one of the weapons of war. I don't see why we should feed our enemies/igbos fat in order for them to fight harder."
(Obafemi Awolowo, 1969. This food blockade kìlled three million kids)
"I don't need Igbos to win in this election."
(MKO Abiola, 1993)
"Any Igbo that doesn't vote Ambode will be thrown into the lagoon."
(Oba Akiolu, Oba of Lagos, 2015).

"If you are Igbo and don't want to vote for the APC, better stay at home."
(MC Oluomo, 2023)
"Let 2023 be the last time of Igbo interference in Lagos politics. Let there be no repeat in 2027. Lagos is like Anambra, Imo, any Nigerian state. It is not No Man’s Land, not Federal Capital Territory. It is Yoruba land. Mind your business.”
(Bayo Onanuga, 2023)
"Let’s kill all the Igbos. Let’s flush them out of Yoruba lands. I hate these people with a passion. They are violent people. They are worst. They hate us. Let’s hate them without holding back.”
(Kehinde Adesogba, 2024).
Well, I took my time to delve into history, so that we can actually know who the aggressors are, and why no Igbo should be blamed for any utterance, action or inaction against the Yoruba people. The above quotes aren't fabricated one bit, but are all factual. The Bible says that "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh."
Clinically check the dates affixed in their sordid sayings, and you will understand that this attitude by the Yorubas has endured for long, and through what is known as "hate culture," coined by Benjamin Netanyahu (Israeli PM), it has been sustained for generations and many more to come, except something changes. Those who resurrected it this time are the Ronus, a Yoruba group that became infamous because of Igbo hate, envy against the Igbos, and other anti -Igbo sentiments.
I've been saying it for a while now. Obafemi Awolowo began ethnic politics in Nigeria, because before the 1950s, Igbos and Yorubas were not at each other's neck. You can read your history books. In fact, when Awolowo asked Yorubas to abandon NCNC, Zik argued that the party was formed by a Yoruba from present-day Oyo State, and his name was Herbert Macaulay. Why did it all of a sudden become a party of Eastern Nigeria? Emphasis!
I may tend to turn a blind an eye to what Awolowo did. It was probably greed, and quests that made him go all out to incite the Yorubas, and even against the agreement he had with Ojukwu. Oh yes, indeed! It was because he disliked Nnamdi Azikiwe so much, that he betrayed Ojukwu, who released him from Calabar prison, and rather sided with the federal government (during the war) that jailed him in the first place.
In the case of Abiola, I may slightly forgive him, because he felt he had money, and was thinking that the north was with him because he was a Muslim. But I will open two of my eyes to those who have incubated this hate and ethnic strife until now. I mean the likes of MC Oluomo, Remi Tinubu, Adeyinka Grandson, Bayo Onanuga, the entire Ronu family, etc.
Has any of you noticed that most of the times that Yorubas always come with divisive games and ethnic sentiments against the Igbos are during elections? It began in 1951. It also played out in 1993, although Igbos didn't even care and still voted Abiola because he was the better candidate. But after the annulment, what happened? Igbos were still targeted. Remember "Oso Abiola". Igbo shops were looted and burnt in Lagos, and across other states in the South West.
It later appeared as the rifts was dying a natural death, only for the election campaign of Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2023, to awaken the Ronu zombies, and like Michael Jackson's thriller, they crawled out from the underworld with their half-decomposed bodies to rattle and startle humans.
If I'm to go with the last two paragraphs, then it all boils down to politics, with ethnic undertone, and many touches of bitterness, envy and selfishness. Guess what? These few politicians and their cronies gaslight other Yorubas to whip up ethnic sentiments to their advantage. If not so, why will Senator Oloremi Tinubu, a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) open her mouth to utter such, and that her church too came to her defence is astonishing. Well, what do you expect from a Yoruba company?
Awolowo began it, Abiola leveraged on it, and Bola Ahmed Tinubu resuscitated it, and hitherto, his lieutenants are all over the place brandishing Igbophobic agenda like weapons used by Europeans in the medieval era.
My advice to the Ronus is that they should discontinue to take coins to buy data and food, and then spread their legs wide open for the politicians to have their way. Just like a man is long gone after bedding a call girl, you will be left behind after their aims have been achieved. But if you refuse, then be our guest. Igbos have seen it all, and your recent barking won't even be noticed, or change a thing.
And if you go by this work I titled, "Compendium of Yoruba Historic Hate and persistent Envy on the Igbos," you will understand who the aggressors have been, and when I tell you that we are only "Defending Ourselves," then I'm saying so with no iota of fear or doubt.
Be the judge.
