Award winning journalist, editor and public intellectual, Uduma Kalu is a writer, poet, researcher, scholar, founder of and community based group activist. He has published books-Life Sentence: Poems Prophesying the Coming Something,: Men from Space: Poems from the Island of Beyond; Labyrinths: Poems in Honour of Christopher Okigbo (co editor). A graduate of English of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (BA) and of the University of Ibadan (MA) along with numerous works in journals and anthologies. Kalu worked at The Guardian, Champion abd Vanguard as Editor (News, Entertainment, Book and Literature, Features etc. ).
He was a key note speaker at the 2001 Third Memorial Lecture with Chinua Achebe, Nelson Mandela abd Nadine Gordimer leading. In 2006, he was slso a key note speaker at the 2006 International Auto/Biopgraphical Association Vonference at the Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany. In 2008, his work was presented at the Harvard University for the Christopher Okigbo 50 Year's Post Humu Celebrations.
His journalism interest, as his creative writings, is for the development of Africa, her people, enduring their a good life for all, especially, underpriviledged and disadvantaged people of the world.
