EFCC said it reopened money laundering cases involving 13 former governors & ex-ministers, totaling over N853.8bn, with at least N772.2bn in high-profile cases, alongside an investigation into N81.6bn allegedly embezzled from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
Apparently,
$2.2 billion is said to have been misappropriated through money laundering linked to former officials, including Sambo Dasuki and Raymond Dokpesi. The EFCC claims this money was meant for arms procurement in the fight against terrorism but was diverted instead.
