A survey published in September I issue of the News Agency of Nigeria shows that negative paternity rate is high in Nigeria accounting for over 85% of the total negative tests on the selected children.
The children were aged 0 to 9.
The major ethnic groups were the Hausa, Igbo and the Yoruba.
The DNA tests were conducted between July 2023 and June 2024.
The report showed Yoruba has 53.% followed by the Igbo, 31% and the Hausa 1.20%.
