I think I need to mention that in the course of my presentation at the Igbo Studies Association Conference at Howard University, one Dr. Abdul Salau, a northern Nigerian and a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of History, Political Science and Philosophy, Delaware State University, USA, presented a paper detailing Igbo linguistic connections with Egypt and specifically stating, to everyone’s surprise, that many ethnic groups in Northern Nigeria have Igbo origins, and that the Kwa/Ka element in such place names as Kaduna, Kwara, etc. have very ancient Mega Igbo links. Someone in the discussion group also mentioned that the cult language used by Igbo initiates of traditional masquerades is understood all over Nigeria by cult members of other ethnic groups. I was shocked by how much non-Igbo people know about the peculiarity of Igbo identity and how little Igbo people themselves know about these matters. More annoying is the fact that Yoruba Ifa tradition holds much of the mystery of Igbo identity, yet Igbo scholars have hardly tapped into it. I was surprised to hear from a Yoruba colleague that the Igbo presence in the Moremi myth was denied by an Igbo professor of English Literature at University of Ibadan in the seventies, who insisted that the Igbo mentioned in the myth are not the Igbo of south-eastern Nigeria, as if there is any other group of people going by that name anywhere in the world.  OBATALA IS THE FATHER OF IGBO NATION by Prof. Wande Ambimbola (Yoruba Center in Havana, Cuba. The most respected historian in Yoruba) Prof. Acholonu was once surprised as I am sure it will surprise you and others when she first visited the Yoruba Center in Havana, Cuba, and what she saw, heard and closely recorded as a researcher. “I saw among the Yoruba pantheon of gods at the center, the statue of a god named Obatala whose inscription or explanation read: Father of the Igbo nation, Master of all divinities, Creator of man in various forms, Gentle Lord of the Pure White”! Continuing, Acholonu said that “this was a great puzzle to her”; that the Father of the Igbo nation was revered among the Yoruba not just as a god, but that he was seen as the master and head of all known Yoruba divinities and as The Creator of Man. Acholonu confirmed in the treatise that the Yoruba Center was set up under the guidance and approval of Prof. Wande Ambimbola, the well known Yoruba authority on Ifa.” *CHUKWU/OLODUMARE/ELE: THE IGBO GOD WHO SANK ATLANTIS According to Euba’s reading of Ifa, the Almighty Olodumare was the God who fought the great cosmic war between Good and Evil, a war which Ifa calls “the Great Igbo Battle”, as a result of which the word Igbo became an awe-inspiring word which strikes fear and trepidation whenever it is spoken. This God is the same entity whom Thoth claims in The Emerald Tablet was the Great God who sank Atlantis for their sins against humanity. Thoth was a servant of this God. And it was this God that commanded Thoth to leave Atlantis and go and take refuge in the land of Khem in order to escape being drowned by the Deluge. Ten step-pyramids found in Igbo land. ANCIENT PYRAMIDS IN IGBO LAND SUGGEST A WEST AFRICAN ORIGIN OF EGYPTIAN CIVILIZATION Wrong and false dating of Nigerian artefacts have been the norm since the dawn of Archaeology in Nigeria. As a matter of fact the British colonialists had also found ten step pyramids in the area of Nsukka, each the size of a single storeyed building, when they first arrived in Igbo land! Certainly it was not an accident of History, but a well orchestrated plot aimed at extinguishing Igbo links with Egyptian civilization, that the pyramids which were located in the village of Abaja in Nsude town, near Nsukka in Northern Nigeria disappeared without a trace and without any official entry being made of them in any archive or historical record by the otherwise very meticulous British anthropologists, colonialists and missionaries. Since the discovery of the Nsude pyramids, black and Afro-centric scholars all over the world have seen them as the long sought-after missing link to a Black African origin of Egyptian civilization. *THOTH AND THE HOLY CITY CALLED BIAFRA/IFE/UHE Returning to the issue of the Indian Snake Science writing taught by Thoth to the Phoenicians, we conducted a comprehensive study of the Igbo Ukwu inscriptions in our third book The Lost Testament of the Ancestors of Adam – Unearthing Heliopolis/Igbo-Ukwu – The Celestial City of the Gods of Egypt and India. What we found, as recorded in The Lost Testament was that Igbo Ukwu was indeed a lost city of mythology. Our comparative analysis of Igbo Ukwu inscriptions with those of most ancient Middle Eastern languages easily revealed very close links, so much so that one is tempted to conclude that Igbo Ukwu might have been the mother of these other writing systems. By 4,000 B.C. Sumerian civilization in the Middle East, which is supposedly older than Egyptian civilization, was in its infancy, while Igbo people were making metal in industrial furnaces and piling up masses of slag and bloom that question to this very day the generally accepted notions of the origin of civilization. Another Archaeological sites containing iron smelting furnaces and slag excavated in Opi Nsukka dates back 750BC. Opi about 100 Kilometers east of Igbo-Ukwu. It is the location of a prehistoric archaeological site which contains iron smelting furnaces and slag dated to 750 BC. Iron ore was smelted in natural draft furnaces and molten slag was drained through shallow conduits to collecting pits forming huge slag blocks weighing up to 47 kg.
