Yesterday, NNPC announced a discovery of 1 billion barrels of oil in Kolmani, Gongola Basin.
Today, the House of Representatives is investigating the abandonment of exploration activities in Kolmani.
The question that begs for an answer is “How can an oil
Company or a country abandon a discovery of 1 billion barrels of oil after spending billions of dollars.
The answer is below 👇
*Kolmani Oil discovery - What a gigantic Scam*

When the Tupi oil field, a sub salt oil accumulation in Santos Basin was discovered by Petrobras, it made global news. There were technical papers all over and it generated interest by all International oil companies.
The Government of Brazil benefited financially from licence rounds.
The story is not different from my experience in Mozambique.
With the discovery of oil in Rovuma Basin and Biera High (both in Mozambique), there was a huge rush and interest by all the major international oil companies. It was a stampede to Mozambique.
Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Total, etc all participated in license round activities.
The Government of Mozambique did not have to spend a penny but made huge returns from multiclient and licence round activities.
But in Nigeria, the story is completely different and a huge deviation from the normal.
NNPC announced a discovery of 1 billion barrels of oil in Kolmani. There are no technical papers to date and the discovery attracted zero global interest from the major oil companies.
Instead of Nigeria making money, NNPC spent and wasted billion of dollars in a phantom discovery.
The ridiculous aspect was the announcement of 1 billion barrels of oil ahead of appraisal wells. The world and the global oil community simply sat back and laughed at us.
The truth is that the entire Kolmani Oil discovery was nothing but a political grand scam and well executed effort by NNPC management to waste and steal money.
It is totally shameful.
The world is watching us closely.
If indeed there is a genuine discovery In Kolmani, Nigeria would not need to spend a kobo. Nigeria would have made huge financial gains from licence rounds in both Gongola Basin and Benue trough.
Welcome to yet another grand scam by our leaders.
It is well.
