- *What was found*: 200+ volcanic stone pillars, 1-5ft tall, carved with faces and Nsibidi-like symbols.
- *Why it matters*: Made by early Cross River peoples - Ejagham, Ekoi ancestors. Nsibidi was likely a record-keeping system _before_ Aro popularized it.
- *Link*: Nsibidi symbols also show up in Ohafia, Aro, and Afikpo art. Suggests cultural borrowing from this older base.
*Archaeology Conclusion*: The Cross River/Afikpo zone had civilization, iron, and symbols 2700 years ago. Ohafia as a named polity came much later and settled on/near this.
